Who we are
Play With My Dog is a dog play and training service in the Santa Clarita Valley, California, operated by The Snake School LLC, doing business as Play With My Dog. “We” and “us” mean Play With My Dog. “You” means the person who books or pays for our services. If you book for someone else, such as a parent, you agree to these terms on their behalf and confirm you have their permission.
Our services
- Play visits are 45 minutes of play with your dog at your home. You don't need to be home.
- Lessons are 60-minute training sessions in your home. The dog's owner, or whoever lives with the dog, takes part.
- Every new client starts with a first visit, where we meet you and your dog, check health information and house rules, and set up home access.
We're a dog play and training service, not veterinarians, groomers, or caregivers for people. Training improves behavior, but no trainer can guarantee a specific result.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancelling or rescheduling a visit or lesson
- Give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, by call, text, or email. There's no charge.
- With less than 24 hours' notice, the visit or lesson is charged in full.
- If we arrive and can't get in or can't reach your dog (for example, a locked gate or the dog isn't home), the visit is charged in full.
If we have to cancel
Sometimes we need to cancel, for example if your visitor is sick and no backup is available, in an emergency, or in unsafe weather. When that happens, you choose: a make-up visit, or a credit on your next bill.
Monthly plans
- Plans are month to month. Cancel anytime; your plan continues to the end of the month you've already paid for. We don't refund partial months.
- You can pause your plan anytime, for example while you're traveling. Pause or cancel through Manage my plan, or call us.
Lesson packages
- You can ask for a refund of unused lessons in a 4-lesson package at any time.
- Refunds are prorated at the single-lesson price of $125: we subtract $125 for each lesson you've used and refund the rest. For example, if you used one lesson of a $449 package, we refund $324.
The first visit
The $29 first visit follows the same 24-hour rule. If we decide together that our services aren't a good fit for your dog, we'll refund the first visit.
Payments and plans
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Monthly plans are billed in advance at the start of each billing month. Single visits, lessons, and packages are paid when booked.
- Prices shown on our website, including the plan builder, are estimates. We confirm your price before your plan starts.
- If a payment fails, we'll let you know and may pause visits until it's resolved.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of your plan.
- A second dog in the same home is $10 more per visit. Our services aren't subject to sales tax.
Your dog's health and safety
- Vaccinations: your dog must be up to date on the vaccinations your veterinarian recommends, including rabies as required by law. We may ask for proof.
- Tell us everything: you agree to share your dog's health conditions, injuries, medications, and any history of biting, aggression, or fear. We may decline or stop service if a dog isn't safe to work with.
- Aggression: we don't work with dogs that have serious aggression problems. We're happy to refer you to a specialist.
- Emergencies: if your dog seems injured or ill during a visit, we'll stop, contact you, and follow the instructions you gave us. If we can't reach you and it's urgent, you authorize us to take your dog to your veterinarian or the nearest emergency vet. You're responsible for the vet costs.
- Heat and weather: on hot days we play at cooler times, in the shade, or indoors, and we may shorten or reschedule outdoor play for your dog's safety.
- Play has some risk: active play carries a small risk of minor injuries, like any exercise. We use safe games, read your dog's body language, and stop before play gets too rough.
Your home
- If you give us a key, lockbox code, or door code, we use it only for scheduled visits and keep it secure. We lock up and check gates and doors before we leave.
- Please tell us about anything we should know: alarms, other pets, off-limits rooms, or hazards.
- We play with one household's dogs at a time and never bring other dogs to your home.
Photos and videos
We take short videos and photos during visits to send you as recaps. We won't post photos or videos of your dog or home publicly, for example on social media, without your permission. We never show your address.
Liability
We're insured and take great care with every dog. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any claim related to a visit or lesson is limited to the amount you paid for that visit or lesson. This doesn't limit any rights you have under California law that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll let current clients know before it takes effect.
