In-home training

Real training for real problems.

One-on-one lessons with a professional dog trainer, in your home and on your street. We coach you and your dog together, with a goal plan, homework, and progress you can see.

Visits are for your dog. Lessons are for you.

A play visit gives your dog exercise and fun while you're busy or away. A lesson is hands-on coaching for you and your dog together, to fix one specific problem for good.

Why a lesson costs more

  • It's coaching for you, not just time with your dog. Like a personal trainer compared with a dog walker.
  • It comes with a plan: a written goal, homework, and progress checks.
  • It fixes a specific problem, like pulling, jumping, or barking at the door, instead of general upkeep.

Lessons teach you and your dog a skill. Play visits keep practicing it when you're not around.

What we can help with

Most dogs aren't "bad." They're bored, excited, and never learned what we want. Training turns that energy into manners.

  • Leash pullingWalks you can enjoy again, without being dragged down the street.
  • Jumping on peopleA calm hello for guests, grandkids, and you.
  • Coming when calledA reliable recall, at home and in the yard.
  • "Drop it" and "leave it"Let go of toys, socks, and things they shouldn't have.
  • Waiting and settlingWait at the door, wait for the ball, and settle down after play.
  • Puppy and teenage mannersGood habits early, before the bad ones stick.
For older owners

A better-behaved dog is a safer dog to live with.

A dog that pulls, jumps, or bolts out the door is a fall risk. Leash manners, no jumping, and coming when called make everyday life safer for owners who aren't as steady on their feet. It's one of the best gifts a son or daughter can give a parent who lives with an energetic dog. Lessons can be gentle and seated, and if your parent can't take part, play visits alone are fine.

  • Loose-leash walking so a strong dog doesn't pull anyone over.
  • Four paws on the floor instead of jumping up.
  • Wait at the door so no one gets knocked over and no dog bolts outside.
  • Come when called for a dog you can always get back.

How lessons work

Every lesson is 60 minutes, one-on-one with a professional trainer, and focused on your goals.

  1. 1

    Assessment and goal plan

At the first session we watch your dog in the real situations that cause trouble, then write a simple plan with clear goals.

  2. 2

    Structured lessons

Step-by-step practice of the exact skills your dog needs: loose-leash walking on your street, waiting at the door, calm greetings, a reliable recall.

  3. 3

    We coach you, too

You, or whoever lives with the dog, practice alongside us, so the dog listens to you, not just to the trainer.

  4. 4

    Homework and progress

You get short homework between sessions, and we track progress toward each goal. Add play visits to keep the new skills sharp.

Lesson questions

Who teaches the lessons?

Our professional dog trainers: Scott, Helena, and Apani, each with years of training experience. They all use the same methods.

What methods do you use?

Structured, positive-reinforcement training. We reward the behavior we want, break skills into small steps, and practice in real situations, never using fear or force.

Do you work with aggressive dogs?

No. Aggression and serious behavior problems need a specialist, and we'll gladly refer you to one. We focus on everyday manners and energy.

Do I need to be home?

Yes, for lessons. You, or whoever lives with the dog, take part, because the dog needs to listen to you. Play visits don't need you home at all.

How is a lesson different from a play visit?

A play visit is exercise and fun for your dog, with good manners practiced along the way, and you don't need to be there. A lesson is coaching for you and your dog together on one specific problem, with a written plan and homework. Many clients do both: build your plan.

What if I can't take part in lessons?

That's okay. Lessons can be gentle and seated, like practicing “wait” at the door. And if lessons aren't right for you, play visits alone still keep your dog happy and their manners sharp.
